Steve is the co-managing member and driving force behind Sandmar Properties.  Prior to forming SJM Partners, Inc., Mr. Garchik was President and 50% owner of the Evans Company, a commercial real estate development firm that has been succeeded by SJM Partners, Inc.  In this capacity he has overseen the development of approximately 7,000,000 sq. ft. of commercial improvements and the master planning of several major office parks.

Mr. Strawn has resided in the Washington, DC metropolitan area since 1976 and has been active in the commercial real estate industry for more than twenty years.  Mr. Strawn in concert with Mr. Garchik is responsible for the post closing day to day operations of Sandmar Properties real estate portfolio. 

Acquisition

Michael Surkes has been in the commercial real estate business since 1985. He began his career as a sales person and continued as a licensed broker, brokering over 400 transactions. His background includes a license in appraising, as well as management of both residential and commercial properties.

Development

Stephen McBride joined Mr. Garchik in 1994 and is responsible for real estate development.  Mr. McBride had previous construction experience at Clark Construction and C. David Hudson.  He has been involved in all phases of acquisition, development and construction.  He holds a bachelor degree from the University of Virginia.
